Dan

Ok, the picture quality is bad...really bad, but I was in a rush. It had been a really long time since I had made one of these, but I needed a quick and meaningful gift for a guy I hadn't known very long- so I decided to whip out my scratch board and give it a try. I should have practiced with easier stuff first to get back in the hang of things, because I messed up A LOT. Oh well, he loved it, so no harm, no foul.

Aiden

Picture I did for my friend's son, just for kicks and giggles. Isn't he a cutie?

Aysha's Birthday Gift

Aysha's B-day gift turned out amazing. I also decided that I really like presenting them with a copy of the origional picture too. I do all of this by hand, and  it's awesome to watch people's faces light up.

Justin's Birthday Gift

Picture for Justin's Birthday. I had learned to pick my pictures carefully and posterize (SO MUCH EASIER)

Savannah's Birthday Gift

This is the first scratch-portrait I ever did of someone I know personally, and I definatly did it the hard way. I have since learned that it is much easier to posterize the photo first instead of trying to do all the little details that I did with this one... Anyway, Happy Birthday Savannah!

Woman from the Magazine

I found this picture in a magazine many years ago in Fashion school....and it spoke to me. You will see this picture A LOT in my art. In the original picture, the woman had a white face with black marking- but at this point I was just barely learning scratch art- so I decided that would be biting off a little more than I could chew.

Woman in the Mirror

Another picture I discovered in a magazine. I was going to do the rest, but then realized that that was beyond my skill level...I learned the hard way that you can't erase on scratch paper.
