Self Portrait

Free hand self portrait I did with water colors. I made all of this up- I didn't have a reference picture for 95% of it. I also painted this in one day...go me.

Woman in the Magazine

As you probably know, I have a slight obsession with a picture I found in a magazine (you can view the origional here). I recreate it with pretty much every form of media that I use. This time I painted the woman using water colors on canvas, and left her skin natural colored. I thought this was kind of bland as is, so I added a back ground.

Autumn Dyrid

This was my first water color that I attempted....which seems bizarre since it's also the hardest one I've ever tried...but well, I like doing things the hard way.
I sketched the dyrid onto the canvas first, then created the background using salt, burnt umber, burnt sienna, yellow ochre and a few nameless colors from a metalic pallet. After that I did a light wash over her hair, wings, and the bark.

Now I've done a light wash of color over her skin, lips, and around her eyes. I've also began to darken and define the wings, hair, and bark.
