The Concert

You said
You wanted me
To remember
All the good things
And somehow
Forget all the bad
Well baby I don’t
Know if I can promise you that-
But
Though the crescendo of
Our last song,
Still echoes in my ears-
I can faintly make out
The first few notes
Of a beautiful solo
Beginning to play, so
Goodbye
I love you,
I’ll miss you,
Goodbye
And kiss all the
Memories
Goodnight
And take down the
Pictures and
Put them back up
Don’t have the
Heart to forget
And
who says that love is blind?
I saw you perfectly
Every time.
So I guess that you’re right
And I’m wrong,
But I know that I’m gonna miss you
So open up the photograph
Book and see the all the memories
And Though the crescendo of
Our last song,
Still echoes in my ears-
I can faintly make out
The first few notes
Of a beautiful solo
Beginning to play, so
Goodbye
I love you,
I’ll miss you,
Goodbye
And kiss all the
Memories
Goodnight
And take down the
Pictures and
Put them back up
Don’t have the
Heart to forget
Goodbye
I love you
I miss you
My love
I hope that
you never forget
And when the concert
Is finally over,
I’ll see you again
Maybe we can play
Together, one last time
And though the crescendo
Thunders still,
I can hear the under-
Tones that say we’re still alone
So goodbye
I love you
Goodbye.
